If you increase your metabolism, you'll increase your energy. If you increase your energy, you'll increase your activity. And all four of these things can magically lead you to weight loss.

Increase Your Health

To increase your health, you have to start watching what you eat—not counting your calories—but ensuring that you receive the proper amount of nutrition per day—every day.

Increase Your Metabolism

The steps to increasing your metabolism are the following:
  • Eat healthy
  • Regulate when you eat and how much you eat
  • Fidget
As you see, the first step to increasing your metabolism is the same thing we talked about to "increase health," so you are already there! Now you just need to start eating at the proper times and eating the right amounts. You should always eat breakfast! It is the most important meal of the day because it energizes you and starts your metabolism. If you do not eat breakfast, this will make your metabolism slower for the rest of the day.

Aside from eating breakfast, you should also always have your largest meal at lunch time. This ensures that your metabolism can burn it off before you go to sleep. In addition, if you are a big eater, stop. Don't only count on meals to get you through the day, eat smaller more frequently meals. This helps to increase your metabolism and increase your weight loss.

Fidgeting is on the list because little things like tapping your foot or fingers on your desk while you are at work will do a lot more for you than you think they would. Just simply fidgeting will get your body moving, burn calories, and increase your metabolism. It's wonderful for weight loss!

Increase Your Energy

Increasing your energy is essentially increasing your metabolism, but with a little more effort. "Tricks to increase your energy" include everything above, plus things like stretching, walking, and cleaning. Believe it or not, but you can increase your energy just by changing the way you think. If we are tired, then start to do something (like cleaning) and you will magically find the energy. So the key is… just try! Your body will find the energy to do the things you want to do.

Another great way to increase your energy in the morning is to stretch. Stretching gets the blood in your body moving, which wakes you up. Also turn on all the lights around you. If you can, start to exercise in the morning, this will keep you energized throughout the entire day!

Increase Your Activity

As you saw in "Increasing your energy," we have already started working in daily exercise. If we can build slowly off this, then we will increase our activity greatly. We can start out by stretching daily, then by trying to exercise minimally, preferably in the morning. Once you feel you can take it up a notch, do so. If you are feeling crazy about it, join a weight loss group or follow a weight loss plan. You will be increasing your overall health in no time!
